All about balance.

If you know me, you know I love treats. It’s true. Not gonna try and hide that. To try and cut them out completely would make for a grumpy mom, wife, friend and coach, which means everyone around me suffers too. OK, maybe I’m being a little dramatic. 🤷🏻‍♀️⁣

⚖️ So here’s where I try to find some balance. Some moderation. As much as I want to, I can’t be eating all the cookies, cake and candy. I’ve got goals. I want to look, feel and perform my best. Live better. ⁣

🍃 That’s why about 85% of the time I do my best to eat great — nutrient-dense and high fiber foods, like lean proteins, veggies and fruits of all colors, a variety of healthy fats, and quality carbs. The pics above are what my meals usually look like on any given day.⁣

🤗 The rest of the time I eat the things that make me super happy (of course, in moderation), like some delicious 80% dark chocolate or a fresh-baked cookie from @lazyacresmarket_hermosabeach — for my own psychological and social well-being.⁣

🙅🏻‍♀️ It doesn’t have to be “all-or-nothing.” Trying to be 100% “on” all day, every day, just isn’t sustainable for me, and likely, most others. Also, it just sounds miserable.⁣

👩🏻‍🏫 It’s taken a lot of learning and consistency to get to this point — where I’ve built a positive relationship with food and the right balance that works for my lifestyle and goals. ⁣

👉🏽 Consistency doesn’t mean perfection. And I am definitely not perfect. ⁣

🎯 Keep working to build healthy habits and be consistent in making better food choices more often than not, and you will likely get closer to your goals.
